BEVERLY HOSPITAL COMMUNITY HEALTH NEEDS ASSESSMENT

Beverly Hospital has concluded a 3-year comprehensive community health needs assessment of certain cities and towns in its primary service area.  The overall goal of the assessment was to allow the hospital to clarify the health needs and determine the priorities of North Shore residents as well as its network of health and service providers.

The project had two phases.  Phase I consisted of a thorough review of existing data from the Massachusetts Department of Public Health.  In phase II, a comprehensive community survey was distributed to a random sample of 2400 households on the North Shore.  In addition, a series of community interviews were conducted to help determine the leading health issues and priorities.  A final report was prepared from all the data collected in both phases of the project.

In this section you will find the executive summary of that report and tables outlining the findings.  A demographic breakdown of how healthy we are is available, as is a chart comparing several measures such as risk factors and chronic disease indicators.
