Volunteers support the hospitals' mission of quality, caring and community through their efforts in patient care, administrative and ancillary areas of the hospital. Assignments include volunteer positions as patient visitor, gift shop clerk, information services, office assistant, patient transport and more!

 

The Volunteer Services Department is seeking volunteers for the following key positions:

 

BEVERLY HOSPITAL

 

• Patient Ambassadors -- greet new patients with a complimentary notepad and pen, water patient flowers, attend to any family need, straighten patient room, inquire for questions or needs and address needs with appropriate person.  The volunteer must be a people person with good communication skills and the ability to discern the appropriate response to many different situations or questions.
  

 

• Maternity Unit Greeter -- greet staff and visitors to the unit and direct them to the appropriate patient room or office.   Applicant must be a people person who enjoys meeting and helping new people.  Positions are available Monday through Friday afternoons and evenings.

 

• Oncology Support Volunteer - greet and direct patients and family members coming to the clinic, offer refreshments to patients, stock supplies for the coffee area, and visit with patients as appropriate.  Applicant must be outgoing, a good listener and be willing to assist the staff as directed.  Positions available Monday through Friday mornings and afternoons.

 

BEVERLY HOSPITAL GIFT SHOP

 

The Beverly Hospital Volunteer Services Department is seeking weekday, evening and weekend volunteers for their unique Gift Shop. The shops provide a wide variety of quality merchandise to hospital employees as well as to visitors, volunteers and patients. All proceeds from the gift shop sales support hospital operations.  Openings for friendly, customer-focused volunteers, able to handle cash and charge transactions exist during the week, mornings, afternoons, evenings and weekends.

 

 

ADDISON GILBERT HOSPITAL

 

Volunteers are needed to cover the Information Desk at Addison Gilbert Hospital in Gloucester.  Your duties will be to assist visitors to the information desk and direct them appropriately within the hospital.  The volunteer must be a person who enjoys the public and is able to deal  with a busy, but vital area of the hospital.

 

Volunteers are also needed in Surgical Day Care.  You will assist those undergoing surgery, both before their procedure and after to make the patient comfortable.  This is a busy area of the hospital and a person who enjoys people and likes to help will find this assignment rewarding.

   

Orientation and training are provided for all volunteer positions.
