Beverly Hospital Operating Room
Expansion
Beverly Hospital's Board of Trustees
and Senior Leadership have developed a business plan and financial
assessment for the expansion of operating rooms at Beverly
Hospital. Currently the hospital has seven operating rooms, six of
which have not been renovated in 20 years and one that is smaller
and reserved for urological procedures. Three new state-of-the-art
operating rooms came online in March 2011 in anticipation of future
growth in surgical procedures given the growing adult population in
our service area.
The proposed new operating rooms will
boast technically advanced equipment to support minimally invasive
surgical procedures, as well as custom-designed technologies that
will support our surgical team's contemporary practice. In
addition, the new operating rooms will be larger and have fixed
ceiling mounted equipment in an integrated smart room, so that
nursing staff will not need to move surgical equipment from room to
room. These upgrades will lead to enhanced patient recovery times,
efficiency improvements, and will increase capacity for additional
and more complex surgical cases at Beverly Hospital. Beverly
Hospital currently has 27 top-notch and highly-credentialed
surgeons on board, and this physician-centered expansion and new
operating rooms will also help to attract additional surgeons of
the highest caliber to practice the latest proven techniques and
advanced surgical procedures.
