Clinical Trials
Northeast Hospital Corporation (Addison Gilbert Hospital and
Beverly Hospital) offers National Cancer Institute (NCI) sponsored
clinical trials through national clinical research groups like
Cancer and Leukemia Group B (CALGB), National Surgical Adjuvant
Breast and Bowel Project (NSABP) and the Clinical Trials Support
Unit (CTSU).
Participation in clinical trials is entirely voluntary. Clinical
trials are also not viewed as a final treatment option. Northeast
Hospital Corporation has an affiliation with Beth Israel Deaconess
Medical Center, offering expanded opportunities for patient
access.
Research studies open for enrollment are aimed at reducing the
morbidity and mortality of cancer, correlating biological
characteristics of cancer to clinical outcomes, and the prevention
of cancer.
