Beautiful Beginnings: Family Birthing Unit

Beautiful Beginnings is the name of our hospital-based birthing unit. Here, we do everything we can to provide a warm, comfortable, family-centered environment for the birth of your baby. This is a memorable time of your life and we are dedicated to making it a positive experience. All our labor rooms are private, with their own bathroom and whirlpool. Based on your personal wishes, fathers, partners, family and friends are allowed to celebrate this moment with you.

If you choose to have your baby in our Beautiful Beginnings unit, your obstetrician, midwife or family practice physician will assist with the birth of your baby. Our labor and delivery nurses will be present throughout your entire labor, birth and recovery. Their expertise will help guide you through this exciting journey.

At the time of birth, many women worry about the baby's well being. We recognize this concern and provide the added benefit of a Special Care Nursery, staffed with a Children's Hospital Boston neonatologist and highly skilled nurses.

We also have a dedicated anesthesia staff available 24-hours-a-day, seven-days-a-week. They are extremely sensitive to the comfort level desired by our mothers during labor and delivery and are here to meet those comfort needs.

For information that will be helpful to you in planning, birthing and caring for your baby, browse through the information we have prepared for you on our Website. If you need additional information, please call 978 922-3000, ext. BABY (2229). We look forward to seeing you soon.
