Radiology Imaging Center Overview

 Radiology is the
use of radiation for different types of medical imaging techniques
such as X-rays, computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance
imaging (MRI), positron emission tomography (P.E.T.), fusion
imaging, and ultrasound. Radiology imaging means creating an
image of a dense object, such as a part of the human body, with the
use of radiant energy, ultrasound or magnetic waves. These
radiological procedures are medically prescribed.

Our radiology medical imaging department provides
complete diagnostic services including:
- General Radiology
- CT scans
- Ultrasound
- MRI
- Mammography
- Digital mammography
- Nuclear medicine
- Interventional radiology
- P.E.T. scanning
- Bone densitometry
Specialty services include the Breast Health Center at Beverly
Hospital at Danvers, MRI Center, a vascular clinic, and radiation
oncology, endoscopy, laparoscopy and mammography
screening services.
Fellowship-trained radiologists from Beverly Radiology
Associates, Inc. (BRA), an independent group practice, conduct
the medical imaging services. The BRA radiologist interprets
these images and acts as a consultant to the referring
physician. The findings of the procedure are discussed with
the physician so that an accurate diagnosis can be made.
