Substance Abuse
Overview
As part of a comprehensive continuum of care and an integrated
medical/behavioral approach to treatment, Northeast Health system
is committed to providing high-quality mental health services that
address a broad range of affective, behavioral, cognitive and
perceptual disorders. The mental health service programs of
Northeast Health provide diagnosis, evaluation and treatment of
both psychiatric and substance abuse disorders, as well as services
to patients with coexisting substance abuse and mental health
disorders. The goal of treatment is to restore patients' coping
skills by involving each patient in an individualized program that
meets his or particular needs.
BayRidge Hospital in
Lynn offers a continuum of chemical dependency and psychiatric
services on an inpatient, partial hospitalization and
outpatient basis. Acute inpatient psychiatric services and a
partial hospitalization program are also available at the
Leland Unit at Beverly Hospital.
The Emergency Psychiatric Service is available
to evaluate individuals who come to the emergency departments and
require immediate evaluation. Other services include comprehensive
outpatient behavioral health services at Addison Gilbert and
Beverly hospitals and the DISCOVER Program at Addison
Gilbert Hospital, which, similar to the partial hospitalization
programs, provides structured outpatient addiction treatment.
Northeast Health System also includes two
exceptional community-based groups-Health & Education
Services (HES) and CAB Health & Recovery
Services-dedicated to providing mental health and substance
abuse services to residents of the North Shore and Lower Merrimack
Valley.
