Wound and Hyperbaric Medicine Center Achieves Award of
Distinction
|
|
Beverly Hospital's Wound and Hyperbaric Medicine Center has been
named as a Center of Distinction by Diversified Clinical Services
(DCS), the wound care management company with whom we partner to
provide exceptional patient care. This award recognizes the
Center's success in meeting or exceeding DCS's company benchmarks
for 12 consecutive months in healing outcomes, patient
satisfaction, outlier management and days to heal. In fact, the
benchmark for wounds healed is 79.5 percent and we achieved 97
percent; the benchmark for days to heal is 47.4 days and we
achieved 31 days; and the benchmark for patient satisfaction is 91
percent and we achieved 97 percent. DCS partners with approximately
300 wound care centers across the country, and ours is one of only
ten centers to achieve this distinction.

Many Americans suffer from chronic, non-healing wounds. Some
wounds are associated with complications from diabetes, vascular
disorders, pressure sores or traumatic wounds. The types of wounds
treated include pressure, diabetic, neuropathic and ischemic
ulcers; venous insufficiency; traumatic and surgical wounds;
vasculitis; burns; late effects of radiation; and Peristomal
skin irritations. The Center utilizes the most up-to-date
approaches to wound healing such as advanced wound dressing,
bioengineered skin replacement and, in some situations, hyperbaric
oxygen therapy.
The professional staff of the Wound and Hyperbaric Medicine Center
at the Cummings Center is trained to provide a specialized,
comprehensive course of therapy to assist in healing problem
wounds. The staff works with your doctor to assure complete
continuity of all your medical services. When you are a patient at
the Center, you are always seen by a physician.
The Center's staff who will be working closely with your primary
care provider are members of a team of professionals that
includes:
• Board-certified physicians with advanced
training in wound management
• Certified nurse specialists with advanced wound
training
• Hyperbaric technicians who perform non-invasive
studies and various therapies
• Experienced staff to assist with appointments,
medical records and health insurance processing
