CAB HEALTH & RECOVERY SERVICES

  

Founded in 1958, this community, nonprofit organization provides drug and alcohol treatment and education to more than 27 communities.  CAB works with individuals, families, men, women and their children, teens and special populations at inpatient, outpatient and residential sites.  They offer individually tailored treatment, referring clients from program to program within and across the agency.  More about their programs can be found on this page or go their website.

INPATIENT

  • Medically-supervised detoxification services, counseling and case management, therapy and aftercare planning

 

 

OUTPATIENT

  • Therapeutic Services: traditional and intensive outpatient therapy for individuals, families and teens.
  • Adolescent Structured Outpatient Addictions Program (SOAP): a structured outpatient after-school program. 
  • Court Programs: for men and women mandated to treatment for DUI first and second offenses.  Assessments for pre-trial and/or parole or probation.  Also a women-only DUI group.
  • Essex County Juvenile Drug Court: for youth (7-17) who have been involved with the Salem and Lynn juvenile courts for non-violent, drug-related crimes.  CAB treatment specialists work with the juvenile judge, probation officers, schools, families and youth at risk.

  • Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) for Adults: an intensive outpatient option for men and women who want to aggressively address their drug or alcohol use, while maintaining family, work and other daily commitments.

  • Buprenorphine (Suboxone®) Outpatient Treatment: newly approved medication for relatively stable patients dependent on prescription or illegal opioids. 
  • Methadone Maintenance Treatment: highly regulated program for men and women opioid (heroin, OxyContin, codeine) users.   The program also includes counseling.

  •  a safe house for women and their children who are victims of domestic violence with substance abuse.

  • substance abuse program for women and their children with access to individual, family and group therapy, plus parenting education and community meetings.

  • encompasses two working half-way house programs; one for men and one for women, who receive gender-specific addiction counseling, work within the community and access job training.
