YOUR STAY
During your stay at Addison Gilbert Hospital, Beverly Hospital or one of the affiliated healthcare provider locations of Northeast Health System, you may, if you wish, have a visit by one of our chaplains.
Chaplains are available for your spiritual needs and offer a caring ministry that is supportive and encouraging.
A Healthcare Chaplain is an ordained priest, minister, rabbi or trained lay person or a chaplain intern who may also be an ordained priest, minister, rabbi, trained lay person, or student under supervision.
CHAPLAIN VISITS
Visits from a chaplain are available Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and at other times upon request.
COMMUNITY RESOURCES
In addition to a chaplain, you may request services from community clergy/religious leaders by contacting the Department of Pastoral Care, Nursing, or Social Services.
ETHICAL ISSUES/DECISIONS/RECOVERY/END OF LIFE
Often illness and the complexity of medical technology, plus personal beliefs and preferences cause patients and their loved ones to be faced with difficult decisions.
When this is the case, Chaplains are available to support and assist those seeking comfort, counseling, meaning and strength.
TRANSLATORS
Translation for non-English speaking patients is available.
CHAPEL
Our meditation chapel for people of all faiths is open 24 hours a day and serves as a quiet retreat for patients, their family members and friends. Those using the chapel can experience a sense of worship according to their own needs and individual beliefs.
