NORTHEAST HEALTH SYSTEM PRESENTS COMMUNITY AWARD
Senior Health Division Gives Commitment to Seniors Award to Fran Bresnahan
(Beverly, MA) - Northeast Senior Health, a member organization of Addison Gilbert and Beverly hospitals, presented the first Commitment to Seniors award to Fran Bresnahan in recognition of his commitment of time and energy to improving the lives of the seniors through volunteer service. This award will be given on an annual basis to an individual who has made a positive impact by touching the lives of seniors in the communities we serve.
Bresnahan, a lifelong resident of Peabody, MA, has a love for Beverly Hospital and has made numerous contributions through the years. He is a great leader that has been an instrumental part of several Northeast Senior Health projects such as, moving the Spectrum Center, an adult day health program that provides specialized daytime care for adults with Alzheimer’s disease, dementia or related memory disorders, from the Beverly Hospital Hunt Center to its new home at the Cummings Center in 2004. Bresnahan also was an integral part of the creation of a new state-of-the-art rehabilitation gym at Ledgewood Rehabilitation & Skilled Nursing Center, a nursing and rehabilitation facility, which specializes in physical, occupational, and speech therapy, which opened in January of 2006.
“Mr. Bresnahan has given so much of himself to the residents and the programs and services here at our organization,” says Cynthia Donaldson, administrative director of Addison Gilbert Hospital. “When people talk about going the extra mile, they should think of Fran. He is always willing to give more.”
Bresnahan established himself in the 1970’s as one of the originators of the North Shore Planning Center. He later was elected to the Board of Beverly Hospital, which became Northeast Hospital Corporation in 1989, and served as a member until 2001. In between that time, he became a corporator of Northeast Health System. He was also appointed chairmen of Senior Health Division in 2003 and served until 2006.
