Beverly Hospital Welcomes Director of Maternal and Newborn Services
(Beverly, MA)-Beverly Hospital recently welcomed Lynn resident Rebecca Gadon, RNC, BSN, MA, to the position of director of maternal and newborn services. In this position, Rebecca will oversee the hospital’s maternity services including Labor and Delivery, the Beautiful Beginnings birthing unit and the Special Care Nursery, a state-of-the-art unit providing monitoring and continuous observation for infants requiring specialized care. In addition, she will oversee maternity services such as the North Shore Birth Center--one of the childbirth options offered by Beverly Hospital tailored to women who are low-risk and prefer a natural approach to pregnancy and childbirth and Parent Education, which offers classes and resources for new parents and caregivers.
Prior to her position at Beverly Hospital, Rebecca most recently held the position of director of nursing operations at Boston Medical Center (BMC), where she was employed for 14 years. At BMC, Rebecca oversaw both inpatient and outpatient obstetrics and pediatrics and was instrumental in redesigning care delivery models to improve the patient experience and increase hospital efficiency. She also chaired many BMC hospital committees including the Perinatal Committee, Patient Family Education Committee and Interdisciplinary Documentation Team. Prior to BMC, Rebecca held the position of nurse manager at Tufts Medical Center, where she was a member of the team that opened the hospital’s perinatal service line.
“We are very pleased to welcome Rebecca as the director of maternal and newborn services,” said Greg Bird, vice president of patient care and chief nurse officer at Beverly and Addison Gilbert hospitals. “Rebecca brings with her exceptional maternal and newborn nursing knowledge, proven leadership skills and a long list of accomplishments. All of which will positively contribute to our hospitals’ ability to provide our patients and their families with the best care possible.”
Rebecca holds a Master of Arts, Nurse Executive role, from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Hunter College. She is also certified in Maternal Newborn Nursing.
