Beverly and Addison Gilbert Hospitals Receive Community Commitment Award from North Shore United Way
(Beverly, MA) - Northeast Hospital Corporation (NHC), which includes Addison Gilbert Hospital, Beverly Hospital and Beverly Hospital at Danvers received the Joseph R. Nardone Award for Commitment to Community from North Shore United Way (NSUW) at last week’s annual Campaign Celebration to salute those whose efforts and generosity made such a difference to this year’s campaign.
NHC has long supported the NSUW Campaign, but this year employees increased their contributions dramatically. Employees donated more than $25,000 and NHC donated an additional $15,000, for a total contribution of just over $40,000 which helped to make the campaign so successful.
“Our employees understand the need to give back to our communities and they take great pride in enriching the lives of the residents of the North Shore through excellent healthcare services and philanthropic support,” said Stephen Laverty, president of NHC. “We are very appreciative of North Shore United Way for recognizing our efforts with this award.”
The support received from NHC, as well as other organizations on the North Shore, resulted in a record-breaking fundraising year for NSUW. The 2007 Campaign raised more than $1,232,000 -- a six percent increase over 2006 and the most in its 65-year history.
