Lucas Wolf, MD Recipient Of Dr. Philip D. Herrick Award
Northeast Health System honors physician’s dedication to his patients
(Beverly, Mass.) – March 15, 2010 – Northeast Health System (NHS) recently announced Ipswich resident Lucas Wolf, MD, as the most recent recipient of the Dr. Philip D. Herrick Award. The award is presented yearly at the NHS annual meeting to honor the remarkable example set by Dr. Herrick.
The Herrick Award honors characteristics that Dr. Herrick has displayed during his more than 50 years associated with the organization. Specifically, the award is given to a physician who is recognized by his or her peers for outstanding achievements, professional accomplishments, commitment to community service, dedication to the mission of NHS and the ability to inspire the general medical staff. This is the sixth year that NHS has presented the award. Past recipients include Drs. Mike Arsenian, Tai Tran, Don Romanelli, Ron Newman and Hugh Taylor.
“Dr. Wolf truly embodies all of the characteristics that we look for when selecting the Herrick Award recipient,” said Nancy Palmer, chairwoman of the Northeast Hospital Corporation Board of Trustees. “He was a unanimous choice for our selection committee. It was agreed by all that he is a pleasure to consult because he is always pleasant, responsive and informative.”
Dr. Wolf, an infectious disease physician, carries many of the same professional and personal traits for which Dr. Herrick has been admired for so many years. He has been a member of the medical staff at Beverly and Addison Gilbert hospitals for 13 years and during that time has remained actively engaged in working with physicians and the Hospital to improve the quality of care for patients and their families.
Dr. Wolf is a graduate of Tufts University School of Medicine. He completed his residency in infectious diseases at New England Medical Center and is board certified in both internal medicine and infectious disease. He and his wife, Cheleste, have one child: Bryan who is six years old.
