NORTHEAST HEALTH SYSTEM
HOLDS ANNUAL MEETING

to discuss successes of past year and the future of
organization
(Beverly, MA) - On Tuesday, January 10, 2012,
Northeast Health System (NHS) trustees, physicians, administration
donors and North Shore community leaders met at CoCo Key Hotel and
Water Park in Danvers for the organization's annual meeting.
This event provided for an opportunity to review the many
accomplishments of NHS' past year and the future vision of the
organization.
After dinner, speakers including Kenneth Hanover, NHS president
and CEO, and Steven Defossez, MD, President of the medical staff;
addressed more than 280 attendees prior to the presentation
of the prestigious Board of Trustees Philip D. Herrick Award, which
was awarded to David O. Danis, MD.
The evening also included videos featuring some of the
accomplishments throughout the organization in 2011, such as the
simulation laboratory for clinical training at Beverly Hospital,
the newly expanded operating suite at Beverly Hospital, Northeast
Senior Health's continuum of care and Northeast Behavioral Health's
in home therapy program.
"The affiliates of Northeast Health System have roots on the
North Shore and Cape Ann communities that date back 125 years" said
Kenneth Hanover, President and CEO of Northeast Health
System. "Over the decades, thousands of healthcare
professionals and community members have served as stewards of this
proud legacy. As this year's annual report theme reminds us …
our strength as an organization is built upon the strong heritage
they built and nurtured for us." "While our affiliation with
Lahey Clinic was obviously the headline achievement for 2011, he
added it was far from our only significant accomplishment. Our
entire organization performed at a very high level all year
long."
Steven Defossez, MD, President of the Medical Staff touted the
expertise and compassion of the physicians he leads. "I have
enormous confidence in our team" said Defossez. "I would hold
them up against any medical staff in the country for their
technical expertise, and even more importantly, their
compassion. They truly embody the leading edge of caring here
on the North Shore and Cape Ann."
