Beverly and Addison Gilbert Hospitals Open New Outpatient Physical Therapy Center
Center for Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine's Fourth Location Now Open at Glen T. MacLeod Cape Ann YMCA
Beverly and Gloucester, MA – Beverly and Addison Gilbert Hospitals announced today the opening of Physical Therapy Gloucester, a new outpatient physical therapy and sports medicine center in the new Glen T. MacLeod Cape Ann YMCA.
Physical Therapy Gloucester offers high quality physical therapy and sports-related injury care for the Cape Ann community. The physical therapists are nationally certified in the evaluation and treatment of musculoskeletal and sports-related conditions. The Center also includes certified athletic trainers, as well as strength and conditioning specialists. The multidisciplinary team works together using the latest rehabilitation treatment approaches to provide a treatment plan that meets each patient's goals.
"We are excited to partner with the Glen T. MacLeod Cape Ann YMCA to continue our tradition of providing high-quality physical therapy and sports medicine," said Melinda Adam, DPT, OCS, Director of Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine for Beverly and Addison Gilbert Hospitals. "This brand-new, expansive space is conveniently located where many local families already have memberships and allows them to integrate one of the many programs and services that the YMCA offers along with their physical therapy needs."
According to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, more than 80 percent of American adults do not get enough physical activity even though regular physical activity can help prevent and improve many chronic conditions. The American Physical Therapy Association reports that barriers such as pain or fear of injury may prevent people from participating in movement or physical activity.
"People recovering from a sports injury will need therapy for several weeks or months depending on their requirements and working with a physical therapist can help patients manage their pain and improve their movement," said Michael Muldoon, MS, PT, Rehabilitation Site Manager for Beverly and Addison Gilbert Hospitals. "A physical therapy option convenient to where a patient may already be exercising can also make a difference in their recovery and help patients return to the activities they love."
The Center for Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine has three additional locations, including Addison Gilbert Hospital, Beverly Hospital and Lahey Outpatient Center, Danvers.
