Breast Cancer High-Risk Assessment

Early screenings to help detect breast cancer sooner

Breast Cancer High-Risk Assessment at Beverly Hospital

In 80% of women diagnosed with breast cancer, there is no family history of the disease. Beverly Hospital's Breast Health Center provides comprehensive care with a focus on identifying those who may be at particularly high risk for developing breast cancer. We offer a free risk assessment at the time of your annual screening mammography.

What If You Are at High Risk?

If you already know that you're at high risk for breast cancer, we encourage you to meet with a breast health specialist who can:

  • Counsel you on risk reduction measures.
  • Create a personalized care plan — including a screening program with our state-of-the-art technologies, mammography, ultrasound, and breast MRI.
  • Offer genetic testing, if appropriate.

Care and Support Tailored to Your Needs

A Beverly Hospital certified breast patient navigator will be with you to support and guide you along each step of your breast health journey. These navigators also are nurse practitioners (NPs). They help coordinate your care with your various doctors and know what's coming next for you.

Genetic Counseling and Testing

We offer family history review and pre-test counseling to determine if genetic testing is right for you. You may want to undergo genetic testing if you've been newly diagnosed with breast cancer or if you have a family history of breast cancer.

Our Certified Genetic Counselors have undergone specialty training to determine your risk of carrying gene mutations that may increase your risk of breast and other cancers.

Cancer Care at Beverly Hospital

Our oncology specialists provide effective treatment for many types of cancer, including brain, breast, neck and prostate cancers.
